Back to basics with chalkpaint & products from mother nature

I'm still flooting on cloud 9 since last monday we heard that we're going to be the proud owners of a huge 4 bedroom house with a fireplace and gardenside livingroom! Soooo happy you can't imagine. On April 15th we're getting the key. We stille have some time but my head is already spinning with colour- and furnishing ideas.

Today i got out all my homedecorating books and magazines for working out the idea's that are developing in my head. I decided to take it one step at a time (not to get completly out-of-control-crazy) and start with the livingroomfloor en wallcolors.

We really like the nature-down-to-eart colors. Because we have lot's of light from the large windows on the sunny gardenside the colors shouldn't be to pale because then they'll fade away in the sunlight.

Here are some of my thoughts:

This is the display on my livingroomtable with a collection of my favorite books and pictures trying to create a compfy, back to nature-style.

I'm a big fan of chalkpaint, it gives the natural colors a warmer feel to them.

Maybe some olivegreen, greyblue and brown (our couch is brown) and mauve to add a brighter color, what do you think?

Next saterday we're going to get some information on floors. We both really would love a herringbow floor like this one.

This shellving from the VT Wonen collection is great for displaying your artworks and beloved books.

Instead of a large coffeetable i'm thinking about some knitted poofs where you can put a moroccan tray on or perhaps just some little low round tables with wood...
